Each meetup focuses on a relevant parenting topic, with actionable advice and plenty of time for open discussion. These meetups are designed to offer support, encourage sharing, and help you walk away feeling more equipped to handle the challenges of parenting a teen. Another large part of the experience is completing the monthly self reflection booklets that we send out every month.

We thoughtfully match parents based on their teen’s age and geographic location to ensure meaningful connections. After you have been matched, you will be able to see your group on your dashboard. This process should take around 3-10 days depending on new signups.

Life happens! If you can’t attend a particular meetup, simply let your group know. We’ll work with you to reschedule or find another way to stay involved, such as joining discussions in the Discord community.

Yes! We’ll place you in a group starting halfway through the cycle, with the option to extend time with your group next semester. Semesters start in July and January every year.

Here’s how it works:

Once you sign up for Fawn Meets, you’ll get an invitation to join our private Discord server. It’s a safe, closed community where only other Fawn Meets members can join. Inside, you’ll find separate channels for different topics, like parenting tips, mental health, school pressures, discipline, and more.

Each channel is a space for real, relatable discussions—whether it’s asking for advice on how to handle your teen’s phone usage or sharing your own experiences. You can message, post, or even jump into live voice chats if you prefer to talk. It’s completely up to you how much you want to engage, but we encourage you to get involved as much as you’re comfortable with—there’s a ton of support waiting for you.

Getting started is simple:

1. Download the Discord app on your phone, tablet, or desktop (you can find it on the App Store or Google Play, or visit discord.com)
2. Create a profile with your name (so we know who you are!) and a picture (it can be anything—you, your family, or just a simple avatar).
3. Join our server by clicking the invitation link we’ll send you via email or text once you’ve signed up.
4. Start exploring the channels! Jump into the #introductions channel and say hi to everyone. It’s a great way to break the ice and get to know other parents.

Don't worry about being tech-savvy—Discord is very user-friendly, and once you get the hang of it, you’ll feel right at home. Plus, we’re here to help! If you ever feel lost, just send us a message, and we’ll guide you through it

We focus on connecting individual parents, but we recognize that parenting is often a team effort. If you'd like your partner involved, we recommend discussing topics and ideas from the meetups together at home. We may consider a partner option in the future, but for now, we are focusing on solo participants to keep things manageable.

Meetups happen monthly, and you’ll be assigned to a group for a six-month cycle. This gives you time to build relationships with the same group of parents, while still covering a variety of relevant topics throughout the year. The group semester starts in July and January.

Each month, we post you out a beautiful structured lesson plan or discussion guide on a specific topic, such as managing screen time, setting boundaries, or supporting your teens and your own mental health. These guides include expert tips, reflection questions, and conversation starters to ensure the meetup is productive and insightful.

Currently, we focus on the Perth area for our in-person meetups, but our online community is open to parents everywhere. We aim to expand to other locations in the future, so stay tuned!
